New OpenNebula Pro 3.2 for Enterprise-class Data Center Virtualization

C12G Labs Delivers New Version of Addons for OpenNebula 3.0

 

After the release of OpenNebula 3.0 (IRIS)C12G Labs is pleased to announce that a new development version of the OpenNebula Addons has been contributed to the OpenNebula Project. The major objective with this release is to provide compatiblity between the Addons and the new OpenNebula 3.0. The contributed components are:

  • LDAP Authentication Module that permits users to have the same credentials as in LDAP, so effectively centralizing authentication. Now tested against OpenNebula 3.0.
  • Accounting Toolset that visualizes and reports resource usage data, and allows their integration with chargeback and billing platforms. Now tested against OpenNebula 3.0.

The VMware Driver Addon, which enables the management of an OpenNebula cloud based on VMware ESX and VMware Server hypervisors, has been available since the Beta release of OpenNebula 3.0.

C12G Labs would like to point out that the OpenNebula Project endorses these extensions and supports them through the user mailing list. Moreover, the project ensures its full compatibility with current and upcoming releases of OpenNebula.

C12G Contributes XCP Drivers to the OpenNebula Ecosystem

 

The OpenNebula project has just announced the release of a development version of the new plug-ins to build clouds based on Xen Cloud Platform. This new prototype, developed by C12G Labs and first result of the collaboration between OpenNebula and Xen announced last week, allows users to build and manage OpenNebula clouds on XCP.

The new components, which are available for download as a new OpenNebula ecosystem project, bring the rich capabilities of XenAPI to OpenNebula. XCP provides a complete cloud platform to OpenNebula, with enhanced security, storage and network virtualization. Meanwhile, OpenNebula provides cloud orchestration to XCP with adaptable, extensible, proven, and interoperable data center virtualization management.

C12G Announces New Pricing Plan for Support Subscriptions

 

C12G subscriptions provide enterprise-ready solutions at a highly competitive cost

MADRID, September 8, 2011. C12G Labs announced today a new extremely competitive pricing plan for OpenNebulaPro support subscriptions. Support subscriptions are now offered at a lower cost with progressive discounts for larger infrastructures and multiple zones. Available pricing models are:

  • Per managed server: The default pricing is per server in the cloud with any number of sockets and cores. Annual subscription now starts at 150 euros per physical server in the basic support level. Moreover, a progressive discount in the subscription fee is applied for clouds with more than 20 servers within the same OpenNebula zone.
  • Per OpenNebula zone: C12G offers per-zone support for unlimited servers within a single zone. Annual subscription fee now starts at 9,000 euros per zone. Typically a zone can include up to 200 hosts. Moreover, a progressive discount in the subscription fee is applied for additional zones within the same data center site.
  • Per data center site: C12G offers per-site support for unlimited zones and servers within a single site.

C12G additionally applies pricing discounts for multi-year terms and for Education, Government and Non-Profit institutions. 

New subscriptions also include lower maximum response times for the three levels of service. The price changes are immediate for new customers, and for existing customers the new pricing will start on their next renewal. In the meantime they will receive an upgrade in their level of service.

C12G Announces Beta Release of OpenNebula 3.0

 

Latest version of the most innovative and advanced open source cloud computing platform.

MADRID, Spain, July 20, 2011 - C12G Labs is pleased to announce the availability of the first beta release of OpenNebula 3.0. This beta release is targeted at testers and users that would like to check the exciting new features that have been developed to meet the needs of our most demanding users. The third major release of OpenNebula brings unique key features in cloud computing management, such as fully-configurable multi-tenancy with fine grained ACL management, comprehensive management of VM templates, detailed accounting and monitoring statistics, and modular and customizable VM image repository. The distribution also brings a new enhanced and customizable SunStone web portal and the new OpenNebula Zones to build multi-tier architectures and to support virtual datacenters.

OpenNebula 3.0 uses a new database schema with a new tool to upgrade from previous OpenNebula versions. The new internal database schema greatly improves the flexibility of the code with no performance cost. There are lots of other minor features, like improvements in the libvirt driver, or the ability to edit resource templates. The final version of OpenNebula 3.0 will also bring new external authentication drivers, an accounting CLI, and quota management.

OpenNebula has incorporated these features based upon the great feedback received from its ever-growing community. With this new release, OpenNebula continues to fulfill the promise of building a state-of-the-art open source toolkit that also addresses the scalability, flexibility and security requirements of large-scale production deployments.
